Understanding EDI Structure
All healthcare EDI files follow a nested envelope structure:
ISA...IEA (Interchange — outermost wrapper)
GS...GE (Functional Group — groups related transactions)
ST...SE (Transaction Set — individual document)
HL... (Hierarchical Loops — organize content by relationships)
